LOADED!

(09.04.2010)

The presenters of Prague Proms have subtitled this year's annual with a proud motto. But that's what it will really be!

Starting with The Beatles – and even twice - performed by the Czech National Symphony Orchestra under the baton of the famous and truly versatile conductor Carl Davis, who also arranged the music for symphony orchestra.
The excellent guests will include Eric Marienthal on the saxophone performing Michael Kamen's Concerto for this instrument in the night subtitled "The Adoration of the Earth". This concert will be conducted by Petr Altrichter.
The same orchestra will hold a tribute to the 150th Anniversary of Gustav Mahler's birth. The CNSO Chief conductor Libor Pešek will be conducting Mahler's Symphony No. 1 on July 7th, the date of composer's birthday.
In the following program the Hollywood Night will again offer a moving experience of the music from the world behind the film lights. CNSO will present pieces like Zorro, Evita, The Lord of the Rings, The Last of the Mohicans, The Terminal, The Piano, Hair, and many more.
The concert entitled Jazz Meets the Symphony will bring more Jazz on the stage performed by James Morrisson on the trumpet, and the CNSO conducted by Lalo Schifrin, the famous conductor and film music composer.
Maestro Libor Pešek will be conducting on the following concert - Alpine Night - and we will hear not only Richard Strauss's Alpine Symphony, but also a little less famous Concerto for the Alp Horn, written by Leopold Mozart.
Interesting accompanying program will include the performance of the Sklep Theatre, Prague Brass Ensemble, Rosefield London Trio, La Parada...etc.
The last night of the sixth annual Prague Proms festival will present the guest soloists of The Teatro la Scalla: Carmela Apollonio - soprano, Tiziana Carraro - mezzo, Mario Malagnini - tenor, Gianfranco Montresor - baritone, Paolo Pecchioli and Gianluca Breda - bass. The program subtitled Notte alla Scala, VIVA VERDI will consist of the famous Verdi's overtures and arias conducted by Marcello Rota.
This year's Prague Proms will again bring more diversity, extent, and quality!
