AUDIO RECORDING NEW CONCEPT

In these days the Czech National Symphony Orchestra is releasing Mahler's symphonies on USB flash drive.

The symphonies 1 - 5 were recorded under the baton of the orchestra's Chief conductor, Maestro Libor Pešek. Besides works recorded in either Rudolfinum Hall or in the orchestra's studio in Prague - Hostivař, the flash disc includes life recording of the 3rd symphony from the Municipal House, Prague, and it is featuring guest artists including Eva Urbanová, Dagmar Pecková, Mieko Sato, and the children's and mixed choirs.

This new release is part of the common project of the Czech National Symphony Orchestra and the JVC Victor Entertainment to record a complete Mahler symphonic cycle.

Hopefully, this medium will find a broader audience among younger generations as it is undoubtedly a more modern alternative of the CDs or DVDs.
