CNSO As The Main Guest of Emir Kusturica's Festival

(09.09.2013)

After summer's encounter and concert at “The Days of Prague in Belgrade”, Czech National Symphony Orchestra and famous director Emir Kusturica are collabrating more intensively. What's all about?

Namely, famous south-Slavic director (former Prague's student), except for the Kustendorf film festival is starting with the organization of the summer “Boljšoj” festival with serious attention to make out of it a festival that is going to take a place at all important classical music concert’s maps both in Europe and in the world.

Festival is taking place in Kusturica's “wooden city”, Mećavnik, at Mokra Gora, from the 13th until the 15th of September, 2013.

During all three nights, TCNSO is going to perform as the main part of the festival, under the Jan Kucera's baton but with the prominent guests. The program consists mostly the pieces of the Russian compossers such as Glinka, Rachmaininoff, Tchaikovsky. The interesting part of the festival is definitelly going to be the concert with the Russian pianist Yuri Rozum, but also the punk opera “The times of Gypsies” that is going to be performed both by The Czech National Symphony Orchestra and The No Smoking Orchestra.

All of those air-concerts are taking place at the main square of the Drvengrad. The rarity of this festival is the part with the performances of the young music talents from Serbia, that are going to be rated by the special jury. So, this is definitelly nice chance for prolonging this Indian Summer in the festival-artistic way as well.
